People easily accept museums about dinosaurs, art, children's interests, science and war, but a museum about food, perhaps because the subject has never been covered, often elicits surprise. Yet food is elemental to human and animal life.

McDonald's Museum -
At the McDonald's #1 Store Museum in Des Plaines, a recreation of the first McDonald's Restaurant opened by McDonald's Corporation founder, Ray Kroc, on April 15, 1955. The original store was torn down in 1984.

Mustard Museum -

Located in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin the Museum features an extensive collection of prepared mustards - over 4,100 jars, bottles, and tubes from all 50 states and more than 60 countries. The Museum also is home to hundreds of items of great mustard historical importance, including mustard pots and vintage mustard advertisements. Truly a sight to behold. Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum -
Japan is a country filled with ramen fans, ramen connoisseurs, and certifiable ramen maniacs, and now the city of Yokohama has opened an entire museum devoted to the ubiquitous Chinese noodle. More than just an ordinary museum, it's also part historical theme park and part hyper-specialized restaurant mall. And, unlike your usual dusty museum, it stays open till 11pm to accommodate hungry concertgoers returning from the nearby Yokohama Arena.
